Biography
Mark Leahy was raised in Lowell, Massachusetts - Home of the Industrial Revolution.
Mark has appeared in numerous films and commercials mostly filmed in Ireland... where he picked up a convincing Dublin accent. While living abroad, he was the photo double for Tom Cruise in the film Far and Away directed by Ron Howard. He also appeared in The Commitments, Hear My Song, and a number of Murder She Wrote episodes starring Angela Landsbury.
He returned to the states as one of the founding members of Basic Theatre Company and Sprouts Theatre for Children, at the Boston Baked Theare in Davis Square.
Later in New York, Mark appeared at the Player's Club, the Looking Glass Theatre and was an active member of the 13th Street Repertory company where he starred in numerous productions including Israel Horovitz's longest-running off-off-Broadway play, Line.
Regionally, he has been seen with the New Century Theatre's production of Kong's Night Out, as Diamond Jim in The Front Page at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre and in The Big Apple with Image Theater Company.
Recently, Mark recieved praise in the Boston Globe for his portayal of Jason in Medea with the Gold Dust Orphans.
